I have gained over 22 years post graduate experience in Real Estate and have worked for a number of Scotland's most prominent Chartered Surveying firms, including Capita Real Estate, Ryden Property Consultants, Graham & Sibbald and DM Hall, before starting my own bespoke and specialist practice.
I am a dual qualified Chartered Building Surveyor and Chartered Building Engineer, whilst I have obtained distinction by attaining Fellowship with both the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and the Chartered Association of Chartered Engineers (CABE).
I regularly provide Expert Opinions and have gained litigation experience including presenting oral evidence, whilst I have obtained the Legal Experience Training Advanced Professional Award in Expert Witness Evidence (LETAPAEWE) accredited by Pearson Learning - Edexcel at a level 7 (Masters level) BTEC. I have also been appointed as an Expert Surveyor undertaking the building investigations in the BBC's groundbreaking BBC Watchdog Live expose into fire barrier breaches into new build homes. I have also been fortunate to appear on further mainstream television providing expert commentary on BBC News and Channel 4's Britain's New Build Scandal.
I hold a judicial appointment as a surveyor member of the First-tier Tribunal for Scotland (Housing and Property Chamber) whilst I am an APC Assessor on behalf of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. I have appeared within various property publications, peer reviewed journals and national press and have presented as keynote speaker at property conferences for the likes of the RICS and Royal Bank of Scotland. I have also had the privilege of having been appointed as an RICS judge in both the RICS Scotland Awards and the RICS Social Impact Awards.
Outwith work and now having ended all rugby playing activities, I can be found enjoying cake and coffee in the many cafes of Edinburgh, spending time with my children or occasionally on a golf course during the summer months.
